We spend our entire lives trying to find something to do with it. We create these plans, and we complete these tasks, just to check off some list we choose to make. There’s more places to see, more people to meet. Life becomes either a task of searching for what’s next or a rather boring plan of repetition. Our brains have to justify a reason to exist. So, we consider the work we do in society as our way of life. We have jobs that we feel are the only way we can survive, buying the things we need. We reproduce because we think that’s the only way our legacy survives. Truthfully, we have been integrated into a life of service, which contributes to this mission of looking for what life can offer in return, but it’s not an experience of freedom, nor is it the life we deserve. It’s one thing to improve upon life, but it’s definitely another to take from it. And I think this “conundrum” boils down to a lot of people these days living with undiscovered purpose.

Growing up, we roughly learn how life works, why certain things seem unattainable. We have to do this first, or we have to appreciate whatever that is before we can have what we want. We are taught what life will be like and how to navigate it. But are we really? This idea of learning is usually some kind of familial or religious tradition. We learn things through the rest of the world too, like schooling or laws, etc., and basically, we accept the wisdom of those in our lives, the ones before us, and the way of the world because it’s possible that’s all we have to guide us. So, we begin to live by their example, and in one way or another, we believe this is the “right” way to live. We fall into that same tradition, into patterns, that have the same outcome- an ending. But it’s what the world has shown us happiness looks like. We think that’s just the way it is.

When we think about the cycle of life, and those from the past, do we consider their departure a reward? A sacrifice? The way I see it, there’s a chance to learn from the mistakes and the triumphs of our ancestors. This is our chance to look at the past, what we could have and what we can still do differently. It’s history that we hope not to repeat, yet take our inspiration from. Whether their exit was in battle with others or within their own body, the circumstances were unfavorable to life. Why?

Human evolution requires change, and by following the plan that has been proven to end at some point, we repeat these patterns of destruction over and over again. We just.. forget that we have the ability to do things differently. We give up thinking we have anything else to offer this world other than generational ideology. When we are suppressing these urges to do what we are capable of doing just because they don’t “fit” into the way things have been done, we are losing that creative opportunity. We stay in the same cycles and our role in society becomes insignificant.

So, what is life and how do we rewrite this illusion? We all have contribution to how the story of life is written. We all have the power to change the future. Every thought, every conversation, every way we find to communicate has the ability to alter the way of the world.

We have to stop thinking we have to earn our best life. That’s exactly why we are here- to make our dreams come true.
