The Unspoken

For far too long have we given religion credit for raising human beings. What we learn in churches, or prayer practices, or even just passed down belief, is that there is credit due to someone that is no longer a part of this world. We are taught “worship” to a being who has lived, and died, just like the people who still exist.

What we can learn from religious practices is how to be part of a community, how to support one another: a different kind of family, one you have chosen to be a part of.

We are learning, every day, and whether it’s from the people you are interacting with, or just the experiences that you are creating, you deserve the credit for the life you give yourself. You are making the choices. You are dealing with the consequences and rewards, in this lifetime. This is not some orchestrated game that we are a part of.

To be a decent human being is not a religious concept. It’s a life you have chosen.
